I haven’t expected that with my son’s almost 4 weeks of spring break I’ll be so busy. And with so much on my plate at the moment (and I don’t mean the yummy treats from our high tea last weekend). I simply can’t find any time for blogging. So I’m signing off for some time hoping to hear from all in the meantime. When I’m back I’m sure I’ll have something to share with you but I’ll pop in before Easter I’m sure. Until then! Wishing all happy days!

In my country we have Autumn now and it is getting colder each day. A few days ago I decorated my house with a little orange here and there. It makes such a difference! When I found these interior pictures I just had to show them to you…

Hi, it’s Carole here from Dear Designer’s Blog.
I must say that when Anna asked me if I would do a guest post for Around My Table while she is away in Europe, I was absolutely delighted. It is such an honour! Anna has been a very loyal supporter of DD and a good friend and it’s my pleasure to hold the fort for a day.
I’m going to take this opportunity to talk about my home town a little. London.
And my favourite place in the whole wide world on a Sunday morning. Columbia Road Flower Market.
I have been visiting Columbia Road since I was a little girl hanging on to my Dads hand. My aunt lived in one of the Victorian Houses in the adjacent streets and we would buy trays of marigolds and forget me nots.
The trick was to get there either very early when the flowers were at their freshest, or just before the stalls packed up, when there were always bargains to be had.
These days it’s become a very trendy place to go and is on the tourist trail but it’s still a fantastic sight to see. The flowers are still fabulous in their Technicolor glory. The air is still intense with a heady perfume and the chants of ‘everythin a fiver’ can still be heard. Many of the stall holders have had the same pitch since the early seventies and some from even earlier than that.
The Victorian shops that line Columbia Road and the streets around it haven’t changed much either but they now house a very diverse and eclectic breed of shopkeeper. From antiques to fashion, vintage to jewellery, a visit to Columbia road these days is as much about the shopping as the flowers.
And no trip to the market is complete without a bagel. Yum.
